License Usage: Forever
Registered Person: Licensed with Use Forever
As a general statement, the person registered to use the materials has continued use forever. Our intention is that as long as you abide by the license owner guidelines, the person registered can use the license and materials for as long as you want.
We offer two Kit Owner License options with your first purchase to establish you license mode and open an account. Both provide use forever by the person who is registered to use it. We provide a transition from Technician License to Company License.
Technician License – This license gives the technician use and ownership of the materials forever (or until you trade it in to adopt the terms in a Company License.) This license owner and use is not transferable.
Company License – This license grants to the company the license ownership forever, and the company controls registration to specify the registered technician who has use forever on behalf of the company as long as they work on behalf of the company. This license ownership is not transferable, but the use can be delegated within the company staff.
If the person registered for use of a Company License leaves that company, that person is no longer licensed for use because they are not working on behalf of the company (license owner). The company must update the website registration to assign the use to someone else who is working on behalf of the company.
Registration records maintained at our website define the status of the license, and who we recognize to be the person licensed to use the materials or access the site. An active license owner account is required to update registration records as well as to obtain access and use of the resources we can provide.
Licensed Use per Person
The Technician License identifies the Owner as the Technical User.
The Company License allows for assigning the use to one staff member, and with the option under a subscription to update and reassign the delegation assigning one staff person of use of the Technician Role.
The Staff Licenses option discussed below allows the Company License to be extended to allow the Company to own and managem additional licenses for more than one techical staff person by adding Staff Licenses. Each Staff License provides a license "registered for use by one person". As with the Company License option above, a Staff License registration can also be reassigned under a subscription.
Registration Updates: Reassigning Staff to Use a Company License
If the registration is revised (as is allowed in a Company License), that change affectively revokes the "right to use" for the person previously registered and now designates the newly registered person with the "rights to use".
We also provide a way for a Company to obtain and manage licenses more than one technician staff, and to delegate and reassign use of the license over time while maintaining a subscription. These Staff Licenses also provide "use forever" while the person registered is working on behalf of the Company.
Extending a Company License: Addinging Staff Licenses
Company License provides an option to add more registered technicians using Staff Licenses. The Staff Licenses provides exactly extends the Company's Library and Support options to additional registered staff members. This the same use and benefits to the Company as the Technician Role delegation of use in the original Kit Owner License.
The main difference is that Staff Licenses can be added individually if you want, they renew separately and individually at a significant discount compared to the original Kit Owner License and Subscription. Staff Licenses can be as much as 70% lower cost in the first year.
A Staff License is maintained under the Company License account. Therefore, if the Company allows their account to lapse, the access to manage the Staff License will also be abandoned, but the license to use it will remain available.
